In 2011,parts of the state of Victoria, Australia, experienced heavy flooding due to persistent and copious rain. I was watching the news one evening which featured a story about a town in northern Victoria that had been badly affected. This got me thinking about two people I knew who where from that town; a girl I used to work with and her brother who I once shared a house with many years before.I could clearly recall her first and married name, and I could recall his first name, but for the life of me I couldn’t remember his surname. This lack of recall was driving me crazy;I tried all sorts of ways to retrieve that surname, until I gave up, hoping that it would just “pop” into my mind when I wasn’t consciously thinking about it. About a week later I was at work and answered one of the 150 or so phone calls we received on any given day. The lady on the other end of the line(to whom I had never previously spoken)was the niece of a long term patient. When she identified herself by name, I nearly dropped off my perch. Her surname was the same surname I had been unable to recall all of the previous week. Now you may think ‘so what?’, but this surname was by no means a common one, infact there are only five listings in the Melbourne ‘phone book. Not only that, but this lady’s husband was actually related to the brother and sister I knew.Amazing!

One Monday walking to school, I found a five dollars on the floor. I seen two rather big guys in front of me and asked them if was theirs. Sure enough, it was and I kindly gave the five dollars back. The next week whilst walking to school, my friend found 10 dollars. I was cursing my bad luck at this point and was saying how karma doesn’t work. I told my friend that if I find five dollars and be a good citizen, and he find ten dollars and keeps it, I should find twenty dollars. That next Monday, I found twenty dollars on my way to school!!

I worked for nine months at a nationwide distribution facility of the post office in San Francisco. During that period I saw three letters addressed to people I knew: one in Glencoe, Illinois, and the other two in Lenox, Massachusetts.

In Chicago I drove a taxi part time for a year, in the course of which I picked up two people known to me personally; one was a classmate from the University of Chicago; the other was my father.

When I was around 9 years old, my best friend kelly who was also 9 had her mums friends daughter come to visit from a different Country. The girl Called Lisa English, stayed with my friend for 2 weeks and totally turned my life upside down, she told my friend lies about me, tried to create problems between us, all of which resulted in us falling out. Years later when I was around 14yrs old, I had moved away from my home Town, and had a new best friend Nicola….Imagine my horror when her mums friends daughter came to stay from overseas and it was none other than Lisa English…...and so history repeated itself! My two friends mothers had absolutley no connection to one another and lived in completely different cities!

I believe I am associated with the number 22. Alot of things in my life are revolved around it.
I was born May 17. 5 + 17 = 22.
I was born at 10:22 pm. In military time its 22:22
When you alternate adding and subtracting the numbers that represent a letter in my name it equals 22. For example A = 1, B = 2, C = 3 and so on…
When you reverse it for my Social Security number it equals 22. So for my name the order is add, subtract, add and for my social its subtract, add, subtract.
There are 22 letters in my dads name. (For obvious reasons I dont want to post my full name, SSN, or my dads name to add credibility to these statements, but I have no reason to lie)
I have only loved 2 women in my life. One I started dating March 22. The other I started dating 6/5/11. 6 + 5 + 11 = 22.
Ive only had surgery once in my life. It was on Febuary 14 (yes valentines day) when I was 6. 2 + 14 + 6 = 22
I only have one blood brother and he was born 6/5/92. 6 + 5 + 9 + 2 = 22
If the world ends in 2012, I will be 22
I’ve only had 2 jobs. Start date on the first was 5/8/2007 and the second was 5/17 (my bithday) 5 + 8 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 7 = 22. 5 + 17 = 22
I drive a forklift at work. The number of the lift that was assigned to me was 122.
And there are little things here and there that just boggle my mind that happen everyday. Like I took a placement test for my college and I had to get at least a 16 on it to pass. I got a 22. The next placement test I took the answer to the first question was 22.
If I realized my number was 22 earlier I probably would’ve been able to catch more things. But every now and then I catch things when I think about it and some of it freaks me out.
