In 1994 a wealthy friend of mine in Chicago had a laserdisc player that He used to let me borrow from time to time. When moving it back to my house from his house I left an A-HA album, “memorial beach” inside and it fell inside the machine. It still worked, so, I didn’t tell him about it. in 1999 I moved to Atlanta, GA and was looking for cool junk at the thrift store and found a Laserdisc player that looked okay and powered up, except the drawer would not open. I figured I’d take it home fix it. Openeing it up, there was “memorial beach” jammed under the platter and scratched to hell. Figure That one out.

I was supposed to stay with a friend one night and decided at the last minute to go meet another friend at a bar I’d never been to. As I was driving I noticed the liscence plate on the car in front of me matched the birthday of this guy that I dated a year before and never saw again. That got me thinking about him and I decided to call. His number was disconnected. I didn’t give it another thought til I got to the bar and saw him. And thats the last I’ve seen him.

I used to live in this tiny little southern Pennsylvania town. One weekend I went to New York City with an ex-boyfriend I was talking to again. We’d been to a few places that night and ended up at this little hole in the wall bar off some alley in the middle of manhattan, when we run into my best friend’s cousin and her new husband. And they knew my ex!! How? because he was my friends date to their wedding. That is how I found out. I never would have known otherwise!!

When I started college this older man in my church told me that his granddaughter was starting at the same school. Well, I never did look her up. For four years I never met her or gave another thought since he first mentioned her. Then, my last semester I picked an apartment at random with 5 girls I had never met. And of course it turns out that one of them is this man’s grandaughter!! He’d been telling her to look for me and she never did either. I’ve been out of school 3 years now and she is still my best friend.

I was sitting in the living room with my wife when our phone rang .
We were BOTH surprised to see the number on our ” caller display ” was MY cell phone number! My wife began to have a go at me for ” loosing ” the phone , assuming someone was calling to return it.
As it continued to ring I told my wife that I was SURE the cell phone was in our kitchen!
We BOTH went into the kitchen together and the phone WAS there, sitting on its side on a worktop!( there was NO ONE else in the house at the time)!!!
When we checked the last number dialed….it was OUR home number AND the time check confirmed it was the call we had just received seconds earlier!?!?!?!?

I have had my drivers licence for 25 yrs and have been involved in three car accidents.

1 – I was driving a Toyota Tazz and I was hit into the course of oncoming traffic by the driver of a Mercedes Benz and then subsequently hit by another driver of a Mercedes Benz. (Nothing coincidental about that one)

2 – A few years later I was driving a Nissan Primera and the driver of a Mercedes Benz skipped a red robot and hit my car into another Mercedes Benz. (Needless to say, this now made me very cautious whenever I saw a Mercedes anywhere around me)

3 – I was driving a Toyota Yaris and was hit by the driver of a Opel Corsa. (End of coincidence?) Her name was Mercedes!

A few days ago my mom had 5 chapter books an she couldn’t decide which one to start reading. So I took all the books and put them under and blanket and mixed them all. After that I closed my eyes and picked one book and said that this is the book she has to read out of the 5 she had. It turns out that the main character of the book I chose was named Ashley Clairisse… this is my first and middle name.

I grew up in a very small town (I’ll call it “Smithtown”) about 2 hours from the Canadian border and about three hours from Toronto. It was the 70’s and early 80’s. The town had a single small bowling alley, run by a middle-aged Mr. X. Mr. X had two daughters, Ms. XY and Ms. XX, both of whom were pretty good bowlers. Ms. XY was actually a friend of mine. In 1997, I sat by myself in a small bar in Toronto, Canada, nursing a beer and watching the World Series on TV. In walked a pretty young woman of about 20, with some friends. She and her friends were all complete strangers to me. The pretty young woman was wearing a bowling shirt, which was a fad at that time. I looked at the back of the Shirt, and it read “Smithtown Lanes”. Astonished, I walked over to her and told her that I grew up in Smithtown and bowled at Smithtown Lanes often when I was a kid. She was a little taken back. Then I looked at the name sown into her shirt, and it was “Ms. XY”! I told the pretty young woman that I knew the original owner of the shirt, and she was floored, although I’m not sure she believed me. Then, to top it all off, I asked her how she got the shirt. I figured she must have travelled to a location near Smithtown at some point, where the shirt was on sale used. No! She said that she bought the shirt at a thrift shop in BRITISH COLUMBIA, all of the way accross the continent!!! She had just moved to Toronto a few weeks ago!

I have a past flame who moved to Utah a year ago. every once in a while I’d start thinking about him but quickly drop the subject. a weekend or two ago I was at Lake Stevens with a friend and he stayed the main topic of conversation the whole two days. after that he wouldn’t stay out of my thoughts. I was thinking of him in a romantic light for the first time since he left. then last wednesday he showed up unannounced. now, after what may have been the weirdest afternoon of my life, we’re back together. but that’s not the strangest part. i checked back in my diary(have kept one daily for a couple years running now) and we broke it of one year to the day before we started it back up again.
