This may be a bit strange or ‘love centric’ but my ex- and I were talking and I will admit, I still had feelings for him. Well we were talking about what had happened between us (we were best friends before & we are again now. We were ALWAYS right beside each other) Well about two weeks later he’d found out that his girl friend was cheating on him, and since we’d gotten back to being friends he came over and we were talking for a while. He was starting to use the ‘you and I’ sayings again and admitted that he wasn’t over it. We started going out again (this was in seventh grade, now we’re seniors and are still together) and well, our sixth year anniversary he said ‘look down’ and I did, and I didn’t know what he meant, but he’d borrowed my laptop a few weeks before, and right on my keyboard outlined in lime green paint the letters ‘u’ and ‘i’ were right beside each other.
I guess to me it was kind of coincidental that the letters on computer key boards are right beside each other, neh?

I was driving with my two kids across the Mackinac bridge in Michigan’s upper penninsula. The Bad Company song “shooting star” came on the radio and at that very moment, my daughter woke up and from the back seat said “Shooting star, mommy.” Then the most incredible shooting star dropped from the sky and we both watched it as it seemingly took forever to fall.

The other night it was storming very badly. I had a 1 1/2 hr drive from my ex’s house where I took my son to stay. The whole way home there was fierce lightning and every time the lightning struck, I got a shooting pain in my right temple. It was pretty scary and I thought I would have a seizure. Well, I started thinking about any past injuries that I had there that might be causing the pain and I remembered that an older girl names Aggie knocked my off my bike and my I hit my temple on the corner of a picnic table and it knocked me out cold for a couple of minutes. My mom was at work and the neighbor lady helped me and said I was fine. No one took me to the doctor.
Well, the very next day after the storm, I had to pick up my dad and take him to the doctor. When I was driving him back to his house, he blurts out “I can’t stand that Aggie” I was blown away – I didn’t see her but he described her. Well, after I took him home, I saw her – yes, the very same Aggie who knocked my off my bike. I had that headache for three days and I had not thought about her in 30 years and there she was walking down the street in a completely different town. Just weird.

I was talking with my friend Cindy on the phone a couple of weeks ago and I told her about my secret fantasy of getting a tazer (for protection, as I had been attacked and raped previously). And in my fantasy, if anyone ever tried to hurt me again, I would just taze them and knock them out, etc. She started shreiking. Apparently, she was flipping throught the TV channels while we were talking and there was a news story about the newest form of home parties for women that are supposed to be bigger than tupperware parties, or candle parties. The subject: Tazer parties. My TV was off and I had no previous knowledge of the subject of the newscast. Stuff like this happens all the time to me – I have lost track.

When I was 17 I applied for a job a a cook on a country sheep station in Western Victoria (Australia). Coming home from the interview I ran into a girl I hadn’t seen since grade 6 at primary school. We chatted and I told her about the job I’d just been given, mentioned where it was and the name of the people I was going to work for. Incredibly as it turned out, her sister was the former cook I was replacing.
But, it gets even weirder. When I arrived at the sheep station I was introduced to the housekeeper whose surname was Smith. We got talking and she told me that she came from Kalgoorlie in Western Australia, which is also where my mother came from. I mentioned this to my mother next time I wrote to her and in her reply she said that there were lots of Smiths in Kal, but the only one she knew there was a chap called “Gunboat Smith”. Yes, as it turned out, the housekeeper was indeed Gunboat Smith’s daughter.
A few days later I met the gardener and he asked me where I’d worked previously. When I told him the name of the place, he looked rather surprised and said “Then your boss would have been Sir George Holland, that’s where he worked. I used to be his gardener”. After chatting for a few more minutes he mentioned that he used to live at East Ringwood which was a well populated outer Melbourne suburb at the time. I then mentioned that a very good friend of mine lived there and when I mentioned her name, he gave me a very strange look and said “Her father’s name is George isn’t it? He’s one of my best friends!”
How coincidental is all that? Here I was on a sheep station seven miles from a town I’d never heard of before, two hundred miles from home, meeting people I’d never met before and I had replaced an old school friend’s sister; found out that my mother knew the housekeeper’s father (who lived 2000 miles away)and the gardener had worked for my old boss and knew the father of a friend of mine..and Australia is definitely not a small country.

A cousin whom I was out of touch with and whom I hadn’t seen in years though we both live in the same town was not even in my thoughts as I flew to the United States from Europe.
Upon reaching New York I decided to take a day trip to see the United Nations building. As I left my hotel on foot , I looked for a short cut to the U.N. Finding a little street which looked like it might save me some walking , I turned into it.
Walking along the side walk lost in thought while looking at the pavement , I sudedenly collided with someone almost knocking him down.
It was the cousin !

Ok, so i was in the car, with the radio on. The radio was playing the lunchtime kickoff of Birmingham Vs Arsenal. I was in the back seat reading a book on world football. I turned the page and noticed that the heading was for footballing injuries. I looked at the picture and it showed David Buust’s broken leg against Man United in which i then felt sick. Then, a second later, on the radio, Eduardo Da Silva BROKE HIS LEG for Arsenal.

Second coincidence regarding Marion, Iowa, this time in 1985. I had just rented a house early June of that year with my future husband and his children. I had signed a lease as his spouse, as the owner preferred renting to married couples as opposed to unrelated individuals. Less than one month later I was involved in a motor vehicle accident with the property owner’s teenage son two blocks from the house. A police report was filled out, hence the owner found out about the accident and my real name, and the fact I was not “Mrs” ****. What are the odds of that? 150,000 plus people to be involved in a MVA with, and we collide.
