I simply had to come back to the Coincidence site with this one. On 26/04/06 I submitted a coincidence concerning a sign that had mysteriously lead me to a book in a charity shop by the author Martin Cruz Smith. I opened the Radio Times this evening to see what the Book at Bedtime is on BBC Radio 4 next week and could not believe it when I read that it’s Gorky Park by Martin Cruz Smith. It’s the first time I’ve ever experienced a double coincidence. I’m seriously thinking of tuning in on Monday night, just in case someone’s trying to tell me something!

This happened a while ago but i still remember:
I was reading a book by Stephen King. It was boring but for some reason i just kept reading it. One of the important phrases that appeared in it near the end was “what is the world to a man if he loses his own son”. just 2days later some religious guys ive never heard of before came into our school. They made us read a phrase from the bible “what is the world to a man if he loses his own soul”.
Out of the whole Bible what are the chances of these randomers picking a phrase almost exactly the same as one going around my head!!!!!!!!!!!

My brother went to collect his car from the garage where it was being repaired. Atthe time there was also a fault on his telephone which he had notified to the telephone company. He arrived back home, got out of the car, took his shopping into the house and then looked out in the road and saw a man from the telephone company working at that moment at a hole in the road dealing with a mass of wiring. He went out to ask him when the fault on the telephone would be put right. The repairman asked him what his telephone number was. The man said that there had been very many faults recorded but the wires he was holding in his hand and in process of reconnecting were those for my brother’s telephone! The precise coincidence in time was remarkable.

I was in a charity shop on 1st April 2006 and as I was looking at the shelves of books, I saw a novel entitled “April Fools”. It is not the first time that I have found an association with a book from this particular charity shop. Last year, my father asked me to see if they had a particular book by an author who’s surname was Cruz. Just before I came to the shop, I saw a sign on a wall saying “Cruise Connections”. Although the spelling was different, I felt certain that the sign was trying to tell me something and the arrow underneath the writing which seemed to be pointing towards the shop, made me even more convinced. When I looked at the books on sale, there was one by Cruz, though not the one my father was looking for unfortunately. But when you consider all the authors that could have been represented and that there probably were only about a hundred books in total, it still was quite a coincidence.

I work in the city and several Friday’s ago at 15:30, I looked out my office window at a nearby road junction and was surprised to see four concrete mixer lorries, each one stopped nearest the traffic lights at each of the four roads leading into the junction. Three of the lorries belonged to different companies and the two lorries from the same company weren’t travelling in opposite directions. So I’m pretty sure they were all delivering to/returning from different construction sites. Mysteriously, they had all managed to arrive at the road junction at precisely the same time.
