Whilst waiting for a doctor’s appointment outside as the surgery wasn’t open for a further 15 minutes, I turned my attention to the carpark opposite to amuse myself. I thought of the random number 681 to see if I could spot it on any car licence plates on the many parked cars there, to pass the time. There wasn’t one. Then, just as the Doctors was opening its doors, a solitary car pulled into the only available empty car space – it had the number 681!

Over my winter break in December 2005, my boyfriend and I decided to play the game Guess Who?. (pictured here: http://www.hasbro.com/common/images/products/0480014fb57e_main200.jpg)
My boyfriend’s name is Sam Herman. (this is important!) Before starting the game, I sorted through the cards to make sure they were all there. Unfortunately, two of the cards had been chewed by my dog and we couldn’t use them. The strange/coincidental thing: the two cards were the Sam card and the Herman card. Remember, my boyfriend’s name is Sam Herman. I thought that was SO weird.

On day walking through a parking lot on my way to do some shopping ( this was befroe christmas), I discovered two $5 bills wrapped up together. I continued into the shop to do my shopping, and contemplated what I should do with my new found wealth. On the way out I decided to drop the money into a Salvation Army bucket, do a good deed and feel good about it.
The next day I’m at work and walking past a display case I notice somethign under it. I reach down and pull out a crumpled $20 bill. I immediately contemplated what charity I should donate it to in order to receive a $50 bill the next day!! I believe in good karma.

I knew I should never have mentioned whilst shopping on Christmas Eve that we hadn’t had any bother with our ornamental tree lights in recent years. They say things happen in threes and this seemed to be a sinister triger for a series of annoying festive events. Firstly, when we came home and I pluged the tree lights in they promptly failed. I spent the next half hour trying to get the lights to work again. Then the turkey my mother had prepared and placed in the oven for Christmas Day started cooking at 9pm on Christmas Eve instead of 9am the next morning. My mother forgot that the oven only has a 12 hour timer. She had to continue cooking the turkey until 2am. Then at 6am, the battery in the smoke alarm went flat and the alarm started chirping.

I was on a walking holiday in the Spainish Pyrenees, earlier this year, taking many photographs of the wildlife and nature that I’d come across along the way,
When, one day, I came across a strange paw print that I didn’t recognise…
I got my camera out in order to take a picture, to use at a later date to research what animal had left the print, but was annoyed to find I had no battery.
I decided to walk on when something shiney caught my eye about 10 paces along the track, Upon investigation it turned out to be an old button with exactly the same paw print embossed upon it that I had just inspected,
BTW… later, using the button, I discovered that the print belonged to the extremely rare Iberian Lynx

I was listening to a co-worker talking to another about how she used to have a cat named Shakespeare. I’m involved in theatre and have done some Shakespeare so the comment was noteworthy, and I went on about my day. Within 30 minutes my friend in NYC calls to tell me about his audition, and then states, “by the way, I’m currently petting a cat, whose name is Shakespeare”. I nearly dropped the phone.
