Two coincidences come to mind. First, my parents had three “daughters” – me, my sister, and our Miniature Schnauzer. Though born in different months, all three of us celebrate our birthdays on the 12th!

But here’s the really strange one:

Earlier this year, my husband and I were playing Monopoly. Over and over, I landed on Illinois Avenue which he owned and had built a hotel on, thus collecting more and more of my money. I finally said to him, “This must be, statistically, the most popular property to land on.” After we quit for the evening, I decided to thumb through a very large book full of facts and trivia. I opened up to the middle of the book and there it was – “Illinois Avenue is the most landed-on property in Monopoly.” Weird! I knew there was a word for this coincidence. Was it serendipity? That didn’t sound right. Right then, I turned the page and there it was in the title – SYNCRONICITY. You could have knocked me over with a feather!!

(Not to mention that we’re both from Illinois!)

Something I found out in the Internet:
If you look at the internet movie database (www.imdb.com) and search for some movie, in the address bar you will see something like this:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0167261/
Notice the last six numbers, this is some kind of an index, different on every movie. Now, here’s the coincidence – if you take these last six numbers and replace them with 110901 (DDMMYY, the date Osama was in action), you’ll be redirected to some movie called “Project Shadowcaster II”. Nothing remarkable? But check the plot summary… Nice coincidence:)

almost every day i will notice a coincidence. for example, one day i was at my grandmother’s house listening to the radio and watching tv. there was this guy talking about fort worth, texas on the radio. at that same moment, on the tv show “cops” it zoomed in on the officer’s badge that said “fort worth police dept.”... things like this happen like everyday. its been like this for months. its kind of scary because i dont know what it means. its especially scary when i am expecting a coincidence. most of my coincidences happen like what i say, i hear the same thing, or something like that. or sometimes i will say in my head “man im tired” and then i’ll see someone sleeping in a bed on tv right after that. i dont know how to view these things as good or bad.

This happened tonight and is really weird. Surfing the net about the paranormal etc., I came across a website about objects getting lost and “reappearing”. Well, it’s a trivial loss but I mislaid a hair clip about a week ago and searched my flat, I couldn’t understand where it had gone! Then after looking at the website went into the bathroom, and there it was, in clear view….there’s no way I could have not seen it for a week.
I thought that’s a weird coincidence, having just been reading about the same phenomena….

It was the day the terrorist attacks in Spain had occured. I and my father were watching the news on TV. We began talking about 9/11 attacks, where i learnt they were called so. At that very moment my mobile phone’s alarm has started ringing, I grabbed the phone, looked at the screen and saw the time 9:11. I had no idea when i set the alarm to 9:11. But later i remembered waking up in the middle of the night with a phone ring, then realizing that i had forgotten to set the alarm, and by mistake changing the clock settings. Somehow resulting the alarm to ring at 9:11. I would not be so surprised if the phone rang again at 9:11 and we had talked about the attacks a few moments earlier or later. But it was the EXACT moment when he asked “do you know they call the attacks 9/11?” then: beep beep!
Another coincidence that i cannot forget. I was having difficulty studying for the exam next day. I remembered listening to Queen while studying for exams at high school. I found the CD, put it in the player, and just as i planned i studied really well. Then when going to bed, i asked to myself “But how did this happen?”. It took no more than two seconds i got the reply: “IT’S A KIND OF MAAAGIC”. It was the first song on CD and started playing. I had pressed the stop button about half an hour ago but had not switched the player off. The player has some problem. But I will not get it fixed. I believe it IS some kind of magic.

My life seems to be full of coincidences. I will now relate three of my favorites. Shortly after meeting my husband (Derek) in 1985 the conversation turned inevitably to our respective mothers, we were of course very surprised to learn that they shared the same Christian names, both Edith Mary, but to our even greater surprise they also share the same birthday 29th July.
However, the story does not end there we also discovered we share the same great, great, great grandmother. Were we destined for each other, we have been married for nearly 17 years and still happy, what do you think?

Last, but my no means least concerns the birth date of my son, Joseph. When I was 17 my maternal grandmother died. She died on the 14th July 1980 and I was devastated when she died, as I had lived with her and my mother all my life. During his birth my son Joseph almost died, as he had the umbilical cord around his neck and when he was born he was blue and had to be resuscitated. He was born on the 14th July 1988 at the same hospital and at the same time my grandmother had died 8 years previously. I like to think she helped.

While working in the computer business for over 10 years I was working in a city about 35 or 40 minutes from my Jobs main company I work out of. I was working on the ladies computer and saw pictures on the wall of her sons and daughters. One of her sons looked real familiar to me so I inquired where they were from and what was his name. Well his name didnot ring a bell at all however it did start a converstaion about how they moved to the area they were in and where they had moved from. This ladies family had once lived on the same road my family had lived on when me and my twin sister were just born and a few months old. What was so strange was this city neither family was living in no more and moved quite away a away from it. My twin sister had died when I was a baby about 4 months old. This lady at this house says to me…I remember a family that lived on that road who had a set of twins and one of the twins had died and she had come and brought food fo r our family during that horrible time. Little did she know and was awed after I told her, that it was my family she had brought the food to and it was my twin sister that had passed and I was the other twin. We both were in awe as to what this could have meant.

My mom had a friend, Kelli, who’s license plate said “BAD ASS.” We always found this amusing and thought she was too old to have a license plate like that. One day Kelli was over when another of my mom’s friends dropped by. She noticed Kelli’s license plates when she was leaving. She came back a few minutes later (she lives down the street) with a license plate in her hand reading “BAD ASS.” It had been on the street in front of her business a few years back and she kept it because she thought it was funny. Strange how these 2 women didn’t know each other but shared my mom as a friend.

I was writing a check to pay for some Christmas ornaments when the lady behind the counter said, “Your name is Monica? Mine is too.” We thought that was pretty neat but then the lady in line behind me remarked, “My name is Monica, too!” It was also neat that I was in my 20s, the lady behind the counter was in her 40s and the lady in line was in her 60s.

My aunt and three cousins (two male,one female) were raised in So. California and have lived there most of their lives. One of my male cousins became a detective and moved to Illinois several years ago. My aunt went to visit him in February,2001. On her way home while driving she went off of an embankment and hit a tree.The second male cousin is a truck driver and swerved off of the same embankment and hit the same tree in February,2004.It was the only tree seen along the highway for miles.The tree is no longer there since my cousin removed it with his 18 wheeler.Neither of them were seriously injured.
