I have always been a hasty person and thus pretty accident prone.One fine day I dropped my cell phone in a bath tub and got it all soaked. Needless to say, it gave up on me regardless of my attempts to revive it. Pretty frustrated I went on with my day missing it in my daily work.

At the end of my day my annoyance turned to surprise when I found that my brother had managed to do something similar with identical results.

Even more bemusing that both our phones formed a set that had been bought together.

I was reminded of a coincidence by Gracie’s comment on March 24, 2003. My story can relate to that very much. I was in the car with 3 of my friends when we pulled up to a stop light. There was this really creepy looking guy sittingin the back seat of the car in the lane to our right. I was in the back passenger seat, so i was right next to him. He was looking the other way when I said to my friends, “doesn’t it seem like he knows we’re staring at him.” You guessed it. Within a split second he JERKED his head around and had the weirdest/scarieast smile on his face. We jerked our heads around about as fast as he did and never looked at that face again. Man, it was just too weird to say that he just decided right then to turn around with a smile on his face. For all we knew, he didn’t even realize there was a car beside him. UGH. what a weird-O.

While I was never a believer of numerology, psychic powers, and coincidence, too many coincidences have led me to believe otherwise. First, with the number 6 and 4. I believed these to be my numbers based on Revelation 6:4— the fourth rider. this was only for amusement, but based on some realities, especially with the number four. Without going into too much detail, I saw the number 4 everywhere, when I asked a self-proclaimed psychic about this, she said it was my number, saying that I too was psychic. Other random strangers told me the same thing. Almost a year later, getting a block buster (membership) card ends in 64, my car license plate ends in 64 (just noticed this recently), a coca-cola bottle I randomly purchased was time stamped 13:4 64, a church building I recently started attending for meetings other than for church is called 2+2, accross the street the building address is 1964, next to an advertisement of massage for $44. The house I li ve in ends in 4, the zipcode I live ends in 4, I live with four roommates, a book I’m reading is the fourth edition, every time i see the number four in an article it has something, usually to do with death, I wear the cross of death (four-sided cross like the red-cross), I was reading an article of Gwyneth Paltrow and she was staying at the four seasons, and her baby is four months old (this is but one magazine it happens every time i pick up a magazine). In Leon Natalie Portman stays in 4F, then moves to 6D. One day I went to a Natalie Portman website-she’s pictured with a shirt that says “JOHN 04” and “04 JOHN” sure, she’s a Kerry Supporter- but I’ve always believed I was destined to meet Natalie- and even get married for world peace… Now, i’ve never been star-struck and was not even a big fan till these incidents with strangers happened.

I’m college educated- in Psychology, have taken advanced statistics, and know that what I’m going through is real and statistically impossible. I’ve just given you samples of what I go through.

I hope these coincidences are interesting enough to be shared.

thanks,

John (last name is four too).

Ps. Perhaps I really am the fourth rider?

I am I high school secretary in a school of about 1100 students. While in the midst of folding interim reports for a mailing my phone rang. The man on the phone was the father of the student whose report I was going to fold next!

I was going on holiday with my mum to the New Forest when I was about 12 and a motorbike overtook us, doing a bit over the speed limit. The road conditions were good and the motorway quiet. However, for some reason I said to my mum, “that guy ought to be careful or he will kill himself.” A few minutes later we ran into some slow traffic. The motorbiker had crashed and we saw later on the news that he had died. I guess it isn’t that much of a coincidence considering the high proportion of accidents which involve motorbikes though. I still keep my thoughts to myself if I ever think that now though, just in case, hehe.

When I was 12, I wrote a very long story, that took a year to write. I even got to meet a famous author and be in her writing class. Anyways, in my story I wrote about a family, the main character had a brother. He was 6’2, blond hair, blue eyes and had 2 sisters, one 2 years younger, and then other 4 years younger. The mother in the story was educated and strict. He was extermly intellegent, funny, and a awesome big brother to his sisters.
I kept that story and would read it over and over for many years.

When I was 15, I met a guy in high school and we begun dating.
His best friend and I became best friends over the high school years.
He was 6’2, blond hair, blue eyes, had 2 younger sisters, one 2 years younger and then 4. His mother was very reglious, and could be quiet strict at times, she was also a nurse.
His sense of humor was exactly the same as the character in my story, his intellegence, and I always felt like he was the older brother I never had. He always told me what to do, and would walk me home at night. We never dated, I should add. We stayed friends for many years. In my story, I wrote myself as the main character.

I always felt like he was my older brother in a past life, or at least, I was suppost to meet him as he had such a tremendous impact on my life.

I was in high school, working in the afteroons at a nearby restaurant/bar for school credits. One day, I was late getting home from lunch with friends which I seldom did, and rushed about my house to look for my chef’s uniform. I ALWAYS put it in my room. But this day I couldn’t find at all. Finally I found it in the basement, which both my mom and I said we didn’t put it there, and I was late. On the way to the restaurant, I noticed a guy looking at me, but I didn’t think too much of it.
The next night was a Friday. My friend said her brother was having a party and we should call some friends, get dressed up and go. We ended up being the only girls there! So we left to play pool. The four of us were standing in line when suddenly we ALL stopped at once, and everyone said they didn’t want to play anymore. My friend said she was sick of making the plans, so I said “Let’s go to the Freehouse.” So we did. (We had never gone there before, just me when I was working.)

Standing in line a guy approached us and asked;
” who works here? ” I thought that was strange. I said;
” me.” He knew already of course.
Turns out the day I was late for work, it was him who standing and looking at me.
He happend to be with the manager at the Freehouse. He told him he wanted to meet me.

Four and a half years later, we’re still together and have a baby and a house, and talking about getting married.

If I wasn’t late for work that day that I went out for lunch, which was unusual, and couldn’t find my uniform, I would’ve never have met him.

Or purhaps other coincidences would have lead me to him!

There’s a non fiction book called The History of Coincidences that I’ve read about coincidences. It lists over 3,000 coincidences in history from 2500 BC to the present, discovered by the author. It’s a pretty good book. It shows coincidences in WWI, WWII, Clinton’s impeachment, etc. A free excerpt of it can be found at www.bbotw.com
